The school celebrated its Annual Day with great fervor and enthusiasm on 31st October, 2010.The programme was organized in the school grounds with a plush stage setup, where the students from pre-primary to Class XII demonstrated their talents in music, acting, singing etc. It was a fusion of symphony, music, dance and mesmerizing performances by students.

Mr. J.N.Chambers Chief Secretary, Govt. of UP, was the chief guest at the function. He was highly impressed by the talent and finesse of the students. Also present were Honorable Justice DK Trivedi (Retd), senior most Judge of Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court, eminent international scientist, Dr Nitya Anand, and founder of the school, Shri Rakesh Kapoor, the quality pioneer and creator of KQES curriculum.

Ms. Meena Kane, Principal, welcomed the chief guest and other guests. She presented a report on the newly introduced International Baccalaureate Primary Years program (IB PYP) system of education, brought to the city of Lucknow for the first time by The Modern School, Aliganj. IB PYP is headquartered at Geneva and has more than 3000 schools across 139 countries have implemented this curriculum. IB PYP classes are child centered unlike traditional classrooms which are teacher and book centered. An IB PYP teacher facilitates the curiosities, questions and research and inquiry strands of children.

The founder of the school Mr. Rakesh Kapoor informed the guests of the teaching practices and philosophies of the school aimed at making students fully functioning persons with qualities like empathy, unconditional regard and congruency.

He further added that the school creates a fear free environment for students to study and develop with special emphasis on learning without cramming, discipline without fear and student centered education.

The meritorious students of board exams and achievers of co-curriculars, sports and others disciplines were felicitated for their hard work and achievements.

The programme began with an invocation to Goddess Saraswati, a dance performed by the students of class XII.

The rest of the evening saw a variety of functions like ‘Chulbul Pandey ki Samasya’, ‘Bhola Ram ka Jeev’, classic play ‘The Christmas Carol’ and dances from various states of India. The event highlighted the rich cultural, social, ethnic and linguistic diversity of India. The students looked resplendent in their ethnic costumes.
